Cartier did not need more than a private hotel, a few jewelry pieces in the middle of the Parisian fashion week to schedule a Rendez-Vous in the most iconic neighborhood of the capital. Hashtagued by the brand #CartierRendezVous, it was the place to be at the beginning of March.
A Cartier Doorman welcomes you at the Montana Hotel in the heart of St Germain
It all started on a crossing street from the Boulevard St-Germain where a doorman dressed in a Cartier uniform opened up the door of the Montana Hotel, a black door with no sign nor light offering no glimpse of the inside. A group of jazz musicians invites you to penetrate the den of the magical place, singing on a Charleston rythm of Pharrell Williams’ emblematic “I’m happy” song.
Cartier Nouvelle Vague
Two models dressed with fur and the Paris Nouvelle Vague collection were smiling to the flashs of a Polaroid camera putting into light the various shapes (cabochons, domes and grapes) and colors (spinels, amethysts or lapis) of the jewels. A wink to the city of light, house of Cartier.

As a matter of fact, it is way cooler to get all the way up the stairs and go back down step by step to discover the different chapters Cartier imagined for each floor rather than the contrary. This Rendez-Vous Cartier is a true experience enabling to discover more than 300 watches, jewelry or accessories of the house. It’s in the first room that we can discover the Preppy Party, a sort of afternoon tea party in pastel colors throwing us back in the 1970s with Courrèges, models and cotton candy.
Cartier, the Preppy Party is decorated by candies and amulettes of different styles
Two schoolgirls wearing a pleated skirt and a ponytail jump play around the room with candies and Cartier’s amulettes. As a necklace, a ring or a bracelet and made of mother of pearl, malachite or diamonds, all of the Amulettes by Cartier look good and cute enough to eat!
The diamond eater is so sensual… we could say she’s arrogant or flirts with arrogance with a look in her eyes that says, “I love diamonds so what?” Lying down on a bed with a bright red Alaïa evening gown #RougeCartiermaybe, she reads or pretends she does. In between turning the pages of her book, she takes time to admire her solitaire, she has a look on her paved bracelet and turns her Hypnose Cartier watch on her wrist. #Hypnotysed. She seems amused by the variety of Cartier open pouches filled with diamond jewelry spread out on her bed. She looks like she is not quite sure what to pick and put on… #HardLifeHer red and black bedroom puts into light the legendary bichromy of the house with hundred of carats translating the Cartier manifest into a bridal atmosphere modern style!

Where is the Wild & Chic hunter? Potentially hidden behing the imaginary jungle of the 3rd floor of the Montana Hotel, if I may say. There, we can find the iconic panther imagined in 1914 just before Jeanne Toussaint decided to make a 3D piece of jewelry out of the design in the early 1920s. Reptile boots, impala on the wall and a hunter’s hat lead us with no surprise to the diamonds and pink sapphire stunning snake ring delicately put on a leopard skin cover… We can’t miss the opportunity to try on the falcon ring set with onyx or the open-work ring of the golden panther with faceted emeralds. So wild, so chic, so Cartier. #wildandchic

For the last chapter of the Cartier Rendez-Vous, four hot models with a Colgate smile – just to be clear – are playing poker on a coffee table with branded Cartier chips and blinds made of a Cartier diamond nail (from the collection Juste un Clou), a panther cuff or even a Clé de Cartier watch. #Dontloose. Life cannot be real with Cartier, and if by any chance stress occurs, a bath filled with chilled Champagne bottles are waiting to be opened in the very next room! A simple way to relax… #NoPainNoGain

The literary figures that have so often walked on the paved streets of the Boulevard St Germain would conclude that the chiaroscuro of the Hotel Montana offers that big and necessary contrast highlighting the iconic pieces of the house of Cartier. The Hotel Montana was a place of choice, meaningful to the brand, legendary for its location and within a satin atmosphere where Cartier was able to express their creativity linked to the legendary chapters of the Cartier story and history.
#CartierRendezVous, when can we sign up for the next one?
